1. Please note that the database backup takes over 2.5 hours.

    For future reference.
    First backup took 2.5 hrs
    Second backup took 3 hrs.

  2. Create snapshots for MOPTRLASQLR301 and MOPTRLAWEBR301 on vSphere. See attached documentation on how to create and revert snapshots.

  3. Back up the ConnX application files from the ConnX directory.

    This will be done during the upgrade process. We will also create a copy locally and save to c:\temp

  4. Back up the ConnX database and the ConnX Document Datastore database. The user account connxweb1 has permission to backup the database.

    If there are multiple databases, make sure that you back up each database. 

    The upgrader will verify that the database has been backed up.

    1. Start SQL server management studio.
    2. Connect to MOPTRLASQLR301 with your admin account.
    3. Right click on each database, click Tasks > Back Up...
    4. Tick Copy-only backup and then select a location for the backup.
    5. Click "OK" and wait for the backup to finish. 

  5. Stop the ConnX Automation Process Service and (if applicable) the ConnX eRecruitment Process Applicant Service.

  6. Perform the ConnX upgrade by following the steps in the Upgrade Instructions (seen below).
  7. Upgrade ConnX Automation Process (CAP) service. 
  8. Uninstall the ConnX Background Worker Service (If applicable) - this is applicable to our current version.
  9. Test access to the ConnX URL.

  10. Test SSO and local logon (admin account).

  11. Restore any customisations. (Run Customiser.exe in the ConnX folder).

  12. Leave snapshots in place for 1 week, then remove if no issues.

  13. Check Micropay service on MOPTRLASQLR301

  14. Also check the Micropay configuration in Program Files\Micropay\Service configuration
